Shading is one of the most common factors that reduce the efficiency of a photovoltaic installation. In many cases it so happens that the shading of one panel affects the efficiency of the entire installation. We have to deal with shading in many places and it often seems unavoidable. Power optimizers come to the rescue.

The idea is to ensure that photovoltaic panels have identical access to sunlight. This is important not only because of high yields. Factors such as shading, dirt, aging of individual cells or damage to individual components in PV modules are not without consequences not only for the performance, but also for the efficiency of our photovoltaics.

The task of the power optimizer is to motivate PV panels to work evenly. This translates into better yields. It also provides protection for the modules and increases the life of the entire PV system. In its design, the power optimizer resembles a small box. It connects the panels to the inverter. PV optimizers are mounted at the modules themselves or in special photovoltaic junction boxes.
